A fun and interactive workshop supporting Carers to rest, relax and be revived through personalised music
On the 20th of October we held a My Music Oasis workshop for Carers in the Rushcliffe area. The workshop was commissioned by Rushcliffe Clinical Commissioning Group and Nottinghamshire County Council and was delivered by JoCo Learning & Development on behalf of musicworks.
It was an inspiring afternoon and a great opportunity to meet some wonderful people. 100% of those who attended agreed that they enjoyed the session and would recommend the workshop and the My Music Oasis toolkit to someone else. Here are a few of the comments we received:
“It was interesting talking to others and meeting new people. It will be a good task to fill in the toolkit and recall happy or otherwise memories.”
“This workshop has been extremely informative and a great support to carers.”
“Really enjoyed my afternoon. Lovely sociable time. Evoked some wonderful memories and sad ones!”
“Helpful being with other carers. I’m looking forward to using my toolkit and spending some time focussed on me!”
Are you an unpaid carer for a friend or family member? Would you like to attend a FREE, fun and interactive workshop looking at the power of music and how you can use music to empower your health and enrich your life?
“My Music Oasis” is a workshop designed for people caring for others which recognises and celebrates the vital role that carers play in supporting others, often at a significant cost to themselves. It provides an opportunity to meet other carers and socialise whilst creating your own personalised playlist. Participants will receive a FREE toolkit to keep and use.
Music has been shown to ease physical discomfort and pain, ease emotional distress, promote spiritual
awareness, aid relaxation, enhance relationships, improve quality of life, support life review and
bring joy and positivity.
